Frequently Asked Questions
What is 'Bleed' and how do I use it?
Bleed is the extra space around the outside of your printed area. Any images on the edge of your flyer, should 'bleed' off the page; please use a 3mm bleed for all flyers. Basically your artwork will be 3mm too big in every direction. We will cut this area off once printed.
What is an advisable working area within the flyer?
Flyers always look better when you keep the text away from the edge, 5-10mm is ideal.
What resolution should I supply files at?
File resolution must be 300 dpi.
Do I create artwork in RGB or CMYK?
Please supply all artwork in CMYK. If you supply RGB files, we have to convert them and cannot guarantee that there wont be any colour 'shift' in the final product.
What format is best?
You can use whatever software you like to create your files, so long you supply them to us in Compressed TIFF, PDF or High Quality JPEG file in CMYK at 300dpi. We recommend using PhotoShop or Illustrator, both made by Adobe to create your artwork.
How do I get my artwork to you?
We can accept CD/DVD in the post, but its far quicker to email the files to us. Our servers can take emails up to 20Mb, which is more than enough. If you have artwork larger than this, please call the studio as there may be a problem in the artwork itself.
Can I pay with Cheque?
No, sorry we only accept Credit Card, this keeps the ordering and delivery process as speedy as possible.
You are very cheap, does that mean your quality is not all that?
On the contrary...! We are one of the best printers in the UK, and we subsidise all our flyers and posters buy adding a small tag line to your artwork with the words 'Printed with Love. LovePrinting.co.uk'. This helps us keep our advertising down, and its hardly noticeable on your artwork. But it means we can pass a huge saving on to you! This is only valid for flyers & posters. We do not add this text to any other forms of printing, ie. Letterheads, business cards etc. If you have any questions please contact us.
